An Unforgettable Evening with Seiko

An Unforgettable Evening with Seiko

Last night, we had the incredible honour of hosting a private event with our good friend Hiro from Seiko’s movement manufacturing division in Tokyo. As far as we know, this was the first time a representative from this illustrious company has visited and spoken directly with the clients and fans of a microbrand.

To respect this rare and special opportunity, we asked for no recordings or social media posts to be shared, but we can certainly tell you a little about what went on. And trust us—it was fascinating.

Inside the World of Seiko

Founded in 1881, Seiko remains a family-owned and operated business under the Hattori family, a rare feat in the world of watchmaking. Despite its global status, the brand still carries the philosophy of its founder, Kintaro Hattori: Always one step ahead of the rest.

Hiro took us deep inside the world of Seiko movements, revealing both the technical intricacies and the extraordinary craftsmanship behind them. We explored not just how these movements are designed and assembled, but also the cutting-edge technology and legendary Japanese quality control that ensures every calibre meets Seiko’s exacting standards.

And then, there was a moment that truly blew everyone’s minds. Some of Seiko’s most incredible movements were displayed in a way that none of us expected. The collective reaction in the room was one of sheer amazement—something that simply has to be experienced first hand.

The Passion for Watchmaking

A huge thank you to those who brought along some truly exceptional vintage Seiko pieces for a show-and-tell session. It’s always a privilege to see these rare and storied watches in person, and they added an extra layer of excitement to the evening.

Why do we put on private events like this? Because, unlike many brands, we don’t just make watches—we live and breathe them. With over 20 years of experience in the industry, we’re here to share, educate, and celebrate horology with you.

So, next time someone says, “It’s just another Seiko,” or “Helicon is just another microbrand,” remember nights like this. Without your passion and support, we wouldn’t be able to do what we love. Thank you for being part of the journey—we can’t wait to share more unforgettable experiences with you.
