Helicon Chronograph – Production Update & Behind the Scenes

Helicon Chronograph – Production Update & Behind the Scenes

Things have been coming along beautifully with our forthcoming Helicon Chronograph, and we’re thrilled to share an update on its progress.

From the very beginning, our goal at Helicon has been simple: to create watches that are a true pleasure to wear, own, and enjoy — timepieces that combine exceptional build quality with design integrity and timeless appeal. The new Helicon Chronograph embodies that philosophy perfectly.

Since its launch, this project has captured the imagination of collectors and enthusiasts around the world. The response has been overwhelming, and we’re deeply grateful to everyone who has joined us as early supporters. Your enthusiasm drives everything we do.

From Prototype to Production

Many of you will have already seen images of our working prototypes. At Helicon, we don’t believe in CGI renders or digital trickery — we prefer to hold the real thing in our hands, to see how light plays across the dial, and to feel how the case sits on the wrist.

But moving from prototype to production is an entirely different challenge. This is where the artistry of watchmaking meets the precision of micro-engineering. Every component must be refined, tested, and perfected to achieve the standards we set for ourselves.

Production is now well underway. We’ve taken our raw marine-grade 316L stainless steel and milled it into rough case blanks — essentially the watch in its purest, structural form. From here, each case will undergo a meticulous journey: precision machining, polishing, engraving, and pressure testing before final assembly begins.

The Caseback – A Tribute to British Space Engineering

One of the areas we’re most proud of is the hand-finished tooling of the caseback. It features the profile of the theoretical British Space Shuttle project, a fascinating chapter in aerospace history that inspired part of this watch’s design language. Around this detailed engraving are subtle inscriptions imagined as if the watch had been issued to genuine British-based astronauts — a nod to the pioneering spirit and technical ambition that shaped both watchmaking and space exploration.

The level of detail achieved in this engraved design is truly remarkable — crisp, balanced, and evocative. The bezel will undergo the same rigorous finishing process, ensuring the final result feels cohesive and beautifully executed.

The Dial – Layers of Depth and Character

The two-layer dials are a feat of precision engineering in their own right. Each is composed of multiple components, carefully milled, cut, and prepared before undergoing several stages of finishing and colouring. Once the base work is complete, the logos and indices are added — but not before each dial is individually inspected and approved by hand.

It’s a meticulous process, but it’s also what gives each Helicon watch its unique character.

Crafted with the Same Passion as Watches Ten Times the Price

At Helicon, we approach every project with the same care and dedication as the great houses of watchmaking. The Helicon Chronograph is being built with that same obsessive attention to detail — not just to meet expectations, but to exceed them.

We’re creating a chronograph that feels truly special on the wrist: a perfect blend of engineering, aesthetics, and emotion.

Pre-Orders Still Open

For those who missed the original launch, pre-orders are still open for a limited time. This edition has resonated deeply with collectors and has already inspired a wave of reservations. Each watch is designed, assembled, and tested in the UK, produced in small numbers, and crafted to exacting standards.

If you’d like to secure yours, now is the perfect time to do so. Pre-orders ensure your place in the first delivery batch, scheduled for early 2026.

Thank You for Being Part of Our Journey

As a small, independent family brand, Danielle and I are deeply grateful for your continued trust and support. We’re thrilled to be sharing this project with such a passionate community of collectors and friends.

We’ll continue to post regular updates, photos, and behind-the-scenes insights as we progress through the next stages of production.

Keep watching — there’s much more to come!

With our warmest thanks,
Jonathan & Danielle
