It has taken over two years of development to bring the Helicon Mustard Chronograph to life.
Inspired by the “paperclip” project for a British space shuttle — a concept that, for many, never moved beyond the drawing board — we set out to do something different. To take an idea from paper to reality. Today, we’re proud to say that this chronograph has done exactly that.
More than just a watch, it represents a commitment to thoughtful design and practical innovation — something we know our discerning and loyal customers truly value.
From the countdown bi-directional bezel, to the integrated pushers with their own protective sleeves, every element has been carefully considered. The two-layer dial with moulded lume markers adds depth and legibility, while the caseback carries a statement we are immensely proud of:
Designed, Tested and Assembled in Great Britain.
Built in Britain – Inside and Out
One of our key ambitions with this project was to bring as much of the process back to the UK as possible.
That commitment extends far beyond the watch itself.
The collector’s packaging has become a story in its own right. Each box is the result of collaboration between five individual British businesses, using locally sourced materials and specialist processes. Even the foam has been carefully considered — hydrogen-spun in Scotland to help prevent tarnishing, before being precisely cut in Kent.
Every box is then hand assembled by a third-generation family business in Hove, Sussex, with each one passing through the hands of five skilled individuals before it reaches you.
It’s a level of detail that may go unnoticed at first glance — but we believe it’s exactly these elements that define the Helicon experience.
A Thank You for Your Patience
We know this project arrived slightly later than planned — approximately five weeks beyond our original delivery window.
While we kept our customers updated throughout, we also wanted to recognise that patience properly.
As a small gesture of our appreciation, each Chronograph was delivered with a handmade, stitched and foiled notebook, produced by a specialist bookbinder in Brighton.
It’s a small thing — but a meaningful one. Because many of our customers are no longer just customers. They’ve become part of the journey… and, in many cases, friends.
A Response Beyond Expectations
The response has genuinely exceeded anything we could have hoped for.
We’ve been blown away by the feedback, the messages, and the growing number of five-star reviews coming in from around the world. Seeing the watches on your wrists, in your collections, and shared within the community has been incredibly rewarding.
A Limited Chapter
As with all Helicon projects, the Mustard Chronograph was always intended to be limited.
Stock is now running low, and once this production is complete, it will not be repeated — following in the footsteps of the Master project, which is now completely sold out.
The Mustard Chronograph represents more than a new release. It marks an important step forward for Helicon — a demonstration of what can be achieved when design, craftsmanship and community come together with a shared purpose.
From concept to completion, this has been a project built on passion, perseverance, and an unwavering commitment to doing things properly.
Looking Ahead
To everyone who supported this project — whether from the very beginning or more recently — thank you.
You’ve helped us turn an idea into something tangible. Something lasting.
And while this chapter is coming to a close, it’s also just the beginning of what comes next for Helicon.
